Schools, Clubs and Societies

Schools and Colleges include Battlefield LIVE as part of their sports and social curriculum because we inspire and energise young people towards achieving realistic goals - and it's so much fun!

Battlefield Live welcomes it's first ever 5x60 players

Barry John 5x60 Officer Milford Haven School said -

During the 2010 School Summer Holiday as part of Milford Haven, Tasker Milward and Sir Thomas Picton Schools 5x60 programmes, 20 children aged between 11 and 14, were taken to Battlefield live as part of an activities week.

We took the children there in the hope it would be fun, it would provide a good level of exercise and it would help the children with their communication, leadership and teamwork skills. The session provided all this while also teaching them about discipline and promoting good behaviour.

The 2 hour session was action packed, with the staff constantly adapting the game to keep the pupils engaged.  All the Staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make sure all the children understood what they needed to do and had a fantastic time.

At the end of the session we had excellent feedback from all of the children, who all enjoyed the session and wanted to return again.

We hope to take more children back in 2012 to experience the excellent Battlefield Live at Llanteg.

Daniel Field (School Sport Co-ordinator for PCC) said:-

During the first week of the Easter holidays, a number of pupils from Tasker Milward and Sir Thomas Picton Schools , in Haverfordwest, participated in 5x60 clubs run by Pembrokeshire Sport Development. On the Thursday, 12 Year 10 boys from Tasker Milward School and 14 Year 10 Boys from Sir Thomas Picton School participated in the first ever 5x60 Battlefield Live infra-red combat games.  As local rivals it was destined to be a thrilling day!  The boys had a great time playing out a number of different scenarios based around combat, stealth and evasion.  All in all, each pupil had an enjoyable and memorable experience and it is hoped that they will attend similar 5x60 clubs run during future holidays.
